This product is an Xmas gift for my daughter and son in law who are both into pirate lore. I am very impressed with the quality and value of the item. It looks like a pirate could have used it 200+ years ago. Telescoping function works flawlessly and securely. The brass looks aged and weathered and the leather looks stressed. The stamping of the leather adds an additional aesthetic. The wooden holding case is also very nice. The product online and packaging info gives you no clue on how to focus it, but I found that’s a function of lengthening or shorting the last (narrowest) telescoping section that contains the eye piece. Also, the sighting/view is significantly better if you back your eye off the eye piece by a quarter inch or so. Functionality is more than credible, and the quality, value, and workmanship are superb. It’s not often I am as pleased with a product as I am this one. Many kudos to its manufacturer.

This looks really cool but I was not able to get it to focus on anything. It could be because I wear glasses and wasn't able to put it closer to my eye. Or maybe it's just decorative and not functional. Still cool looking.

It’s a beauty for sure. Exactly like the pictures. This is a Christmas gift for my son so it won’t be used for a few weeks yet. Just took it out, opened it and tested what I could while being incognito so he wouldn’t see it ;) couldn’t take any pictures myself but the photos on here are accurate so not necessary anyways. I’d give more stars if I could.This is definitely giftable. Well made. Heavier than I expected but not outrageous. Probably weighs as much as a pack and half of butter (6 half cup sticks) or slightly more.Very impressed and happy with this purchase. I can’t express enough how great of a buy this was. My son is going to love it so much Christmas morning

The media could not be loaded. Very nicely made I love it! Need instructions though. How to use: its cool too extend the whole thing out but that doesnt guarantee focus. To focus you must adjust the extension of the spy glass (push closer to you or farther away from you) found twisting from left to right helps nothing its not like binoculars.Also... squinting one eye looks cool in all but after a while its too much and it hurts lol. Just open both eyes.Gifted to my son who is 6 still a bit difficult for him to see through but he’ll learn as he grows.

Seemed well made and functional at first, though it came with the stitching on the leather coming apart. Which was cosmetic, so I didn't care much. But I took it out on a boat for a pirate themed shindig and it broke almost right away. Upon extending it, the smallest tube fell right off the back. Pieces fell out after it. And while I was able to reinsert it, it had lost the retaining parts so it rattled loose and any attempts to extend the scope resulted in it falling off again. I've since returned the product for a refund.

The quality and function are very good for a period reproduction and for the price! I will be proud to use this in reenactments. It focuses smoothly by a slight push/pull of the scope and is at least 10X, and the leather is a bit dry but after a little mink oil is softens and shines up nicely. This is not a toy however, could be a great gift for a young history buff.
