Great button battery charger, last decades technology
This is great set and forget charger for button batteries. I've been going through batteries a lot in my arduino projects and this charger fits the bill perfectly. Also note that I have a pre-order for the Pokemon Go Plus and this will charge the batteries used in that too! As I'm an ingress player as well I've already learned had appreciation for on-the-go charging. This device will also meet those requirements. The Only reason I'm not giving this a 5 star review is because I would like to see three things in a future device release.1) the use of a micro-usb port instead of a mini. I mean mini USB is rare these days and damaging or losing a cable can become expensive to replace2) much better chip-set handling the charging of the batteries. There is a lot of waste when it comes to having it plugged in without it charging a battery. Updating the charging controller to something this decade would resolve this.3) Although good for desktop charging this device is almost as bulky as an 18650 battery charger. I would like to see this slim way down so I can keep it and my battery pack in my bike pouch. All in all it's a hard piece of technology to find. As such, we can't be too picky where our money goes. However, with a small amount of work (mainly in creating a new production line and distribution) an updated, and much more efficient, device can be sold. Especially with us Pokemon Go players!

The problem with the batteries does not appear to be just because rechargable batteries have a shorter life.A more likely explanation is that these batteries are poor quality. The ones that came with mine only lasted 3 hours before my LED candles started to go dim, even after being recharged.I bought Maxell rechargable batteries instead, on the theory that name brand batteries would be better quality, even though they are twice the price of generic batteries. (Made by yet another low quality Chinese company? Most things are made in China these days, but only the foreign companies manufacturing there seem to insist on quality.)They have already lasted 4 times as long, and still showing no signs of needing to be recharged.https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CJ3T188/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1I gave it four stars anyway, because I like the recharger. The only fault I see with it is that if you push the batteries all the way into it, it can be difficult to extract them again with your fingers. So, in short, buy it for the recharger, but get yourself better batteries while you are at it.

Don't buy this
I bought this and also a 20 pack of rechargeable batteries from a different brand. This is what I know for sure after loads of testing:The battery's come charged. You have to take the plastic ring off of them. It only charges 2 batteries at a time. You push them down into the slots, with the + side facing the + side, and the red light will come on to tell you that it's charging, and the green light will come on to tell you when it's fully charged.I tested all 24 of these rechargeable batteries with an actual battery tester. 4 of those came with this charger, and 20 I bought separately from a completely different brand.Based on what I found with the battery tester, the charger seems to work. The battery reads as dead on the tester, then I charge it for about 1 minute or so, then the light turns green to indicate it's fully charged. What a fast charge! Seems unlikely? But unfortunately, the battery tester doesn't lie, it reads the battery as fully charged. However, the tester also shows that the battery drains instantly, down to empty within only 1 minute. That happened with every single battery! So I am not sure if the culprit is 24 batteries, or if this charger is somehow damaging the batteries and causing that to happen.Either way, I am not impressed. These batteries only hold a minute or two of power (that means in my battery operated candles, which I bought them for, I literally have to replace the batters every minute or so) before I have to charge them again. In comparison, store bought batteries have lasted me weeks.I want my money back.

Not worth it
This charger works well, but the problem is with LiR2032 batteries - they just do not last. I've tested them at home - fully charged (which takes less than 30 min), installed in a rear bike light, turned on blinking mode. In 40 minutes they were already near dead, judging by the severely diminished brightness of the light. So you can't use these batteries for any reasonable time even in such low power device.Ordinary CR2032 in the same blinker light last many-many hours if not days - I have not changed my first pair of batteries since I bought the lights over a month ago, and I do bike commute almost every day. That makes LiR2032 last hardly much longer then a conventional battery. I was hoping to be eco-friendly with them and have at least a few days of work, but no - 40 min in a blinker per charge make this technology useless.

does this even work?
I bought this because i have a water bottle that takes coin cell batteries. the water bottle connects via Bluetooth to an app so i can track how much water i drink. I felt that i was frequently going out and buying batteries to put in the water bottle and figured id just buy rechargeable ones. however this charger came with no instructions and when the batteries are put into the charger the indicator lights are green. which implies to me they are charged, when i put the batteries in my water bottle, the light on my water bottle functions and i was only able to use the batteries in the water bottle one day before my water bottle wasn't connecting. I've eliminated every other issue with the water bottle so i know its the batteries. probably wouldnt buy this product again. would really prefer to have instructions. if anyone can help me with this that would be great. perhaps i need to try different rechargeable batteries.
