It holds the blanks well and doesn’t loose tightness when the lathe is spinning. I’ve used it to turn about 10 pens so far.

Solid starter mandrel
Everything is as described, it fits the size and doesn't flex when you're working.One criticism is that the compression fitting to keep things stable doesn't hold very well. You REALLY have to wrench down on that thing.Other than that, great.

Nice mandrel
Runs nice and true, good finish wish it was just a bit longer but handles a 5” blank (cut in half). I would buy another if needed.
