Magic Carpet Ride...
The Atom Drop Through Longboard is nearly perfect in every way. My board, which I have lovingly named Felicia, arrived in about a week in a cardboard box that was a bit too small - there was almost no package padding. But when I opened the dented box, all vestiges of doubt fled. This board is beautiful. The craftsmanship is simply out-of-this-world. I jumped on it and started riding immediately. The ride was as smooth as butter, and I felt as though I was flying, with almost no resistance. The wide deck is curved, flexible and has great strength - it should comfortably support someone of 210 pounds or so (I weigh 195). The deck tape is grippy and rather coarse. The wheels and bearings are a great combination - the board just rolls and rolls, seemingly without much effort. The trucks are attractive, responsive and solidly made.Turning radius is a bit wide - the board requires a bit of lean in order to effect a reasonable 180 degree turn - but once you get the hang of it, you're solid. There is no wheelbite whatsoever. Kicking is wonderful, because the board is a drop through, making its height lower than a top mounted board.I got caught in a torrential downpour on the boardwalk approximately three miles away from my car - the board might as well have been a rowboat - it got me back to the car quickly and efficiently. Later, after it was left to dry, I was happy to see that the deck did not warp. Some of the truck componentry is painted black, and the paint chips down there from flying stones, resulting in small rust spots. The truck mounting screws will loosen on the board over time, despite their loctite nuts, resulting in annoying rattling and loose handling - be sure to keep a tool with you when boarding to tighten things up after heavy cruising.I love this longboard! I have owned it for three months, and I ride it nearly every day. It's easy and pleasurable to ride and very confidence-inspiring. I take it with me everywhere, and it gets tons of compliments. I highly recommend it!

Good (but not great) Beginner Longboard
I'm a college student, and I've been using this as my first longboard for about 4 months now as my primary daily transportation around campus. I'm generally pleased with the build quality and aesthetics of the board, but there are a couple things that could be improved.PROS:-The bamboo gives the board a lot of flex. I can get a really comfortable ride even though my campus is riddled with cracks and debris on all of the sidewalks.-It comes with larger than normal wheels (70x51mm), which also adds to the comfort of the ride.-The grip tape on the top of the board is some of the roughest I've ever seen. I actually found myself roughing up my hands just carrying it until it had worn down a bit after a few weeks of riding, but you definitely will NOT slip while riding.-I have big feet.. ;) .. and the wide deck is nice to have.-The drop-through deck means I've never had a problem with wheel bite (when turning hard and the board angles down, making contact with the wheels).CONS:-The bamboo also means the board is a good bit more fragile than a normal maple deck. I busted up the front pretty bad on a curb in just the first week I was riding it, since then I've been a lot more careful with it and haven't had any problems other than light wear (See picture).-The bushings (rubber cylinders in between the truck and the kingpin to allow the trucks to rotate) that come with this are stiff as plastic. Unless you weigh 300 pounds you will barely be able to steer the board. (I weigh 160) The first day I had the board, I had to unscrew the kingpin until it no longer made contact with the bushings in order to steer at all. I picked up some soft bushings the 2nd day after having the board, which was completely necessary to being able to ride well. I highly recommend buying different bushings that suit your weight if you buy this board.

Great cheap beginners board
Great cheap beginners board. I used to skate a lot growing up but never longboards. I wanted to get back into it but I have no desire to do tricks anymore. In an attempt to make my commute to the train every morning better I picked this up.Its great for the price and I wouldn't have batted an eye if it was more expensive. I really dont have a complaint. The biggest thing I saw in the reviews were complaints about the bearings. You NEED to loosen the wheels when you buy this board. They nuts on the trucks are cranked so tight you can barely roll. Loosen them up and break them in and this thing cruises amazing. You don't need new bearings just loosen it up a bit.

Atom isn't the greatest, but this board is.
I've bought 3 Atom longboards, and have returned 2 of them. This is the only one I didn't return. This is probably their best board they sell. It's usually out of stock because it's probably one of their more popular ones. The other ones I had were missing spaces, speed rings, and the hardware was just cheeply put on. But I can tell they did their best with this board. It's a little more expensive than the other ones, but it's totally worth the extra. Also buy some BONES REDZ Bearings and put them in. You'll be happy you did. The bearings that come with Atom boards are not the best. Go with some Bones bearings for like $13 on Amazon and they will make all the difference in the world while riding. The board flexes nicely, and the wheels are nice and big. The length of the board is very ideal for me. Not too long, and not too short. Perfect. I would buy this board again.
