Best Board for the Money!
First, I'm 38 years old and needed something to keep up with my 12 year old. That said, I wasn't sure exactly what to get. Take my word for it, this is absolutely where to start. I sampled many boards at Tilly's and the drop deck is where it's at. For anyone planning to cruise, this thing is so easy to kick from because of the low deck height. Further, there's just enough flex (I'm 6'2" & 178 lbs) that the ride is fantastic. I mostly ride on asphalt, but it'll do well on concrete as well.Additionally, the wheels and bearings provide an incredibly smooth roll. One note, as others have stated, you should slightly loosen the wheel nuts, as they're a tad too tight from the factory. After a quick adjustment, my board was sailing! My daughter has a Goldcoast pintail with Super Reds and it rolls like a brick compared to the Abec 11's and factory Area 51's. In fact, I now have to replace her board because she alwayswants to ride my Atom drop deck.Another benefit of this board, is how well it carves. I've adjusted the trucks to be a little looser and I feel like I'm carving through fresh powder on a snowboard. Further, because of the cutouts, you'll never experience wheel bind. Really, this is way to go.Finally, it's beautiful. That's not exactly what a dude wants to have his board known for, but this thing is seriously good lookin'. The grip tape has a subtle logo cut out, and the underside is just rad! Honestly, there's absolutely nothing I would change.Stop looking and add this to your cart. You won't regret it.BTW - I was not compensated for this review. I'm tired of the incomplete, or less than helpful reviews.

Solid board, but replace the bearings
I've had this board for about a month now, and I've really enjoyed it. The trucks were a little tight when it arrived, but I loosened them up and they're just dandy now. The deck is solid and has very little flex, and the grip tape is very grippy. This is my first board, but even I could tell that the stock bearings were no good. One of the wheels kept locking up, and almost threw me off several times. Do yourself a favor and buy this board, but also buy a set of Bone's Reds and replace the stock bearings. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FDRQ1S/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

Can we please get one without the DEFECT?
The board has a grey surface layer (The rough sandpaper-like top that you stand on.) that is not bonded to the solid board surface at the narrow part of one of the curves at the ends of the board. It looks as if there is an airpocket, 2-3 incheswide, and there is a wide gap of 1inch opening between the two layers where the material is stretched flat above the board surface instead of being bonded to the surface following the contour of the board. My husband wants to just try to glue and clamp it himself, but I doubt that would be very durable. I requested a replacement. decribing the defect. The replacement arrived promptly in two days on a Sunday which was excellenct customer service. The second board has this exact same defect even more pronounced than did the first board. Other than this one deal breaker defect, it is exactly what my son wanted and otherwise is as described on the website. He loves the design and style and quality and it is just so frustrating for him to keep waiting for a non-defective one we'll let him keep. We still want this board IF we can be provided with one without this defect. How might we be able to resolve this with the company? I see no other way to try to reach them other than to post this comment.

Love this board
Love this board! It's easy to ride and not as heavy as the other atom drop down board, which I also have. Nice smooth wheels, excellent grip tape as well. Very pretty wood look underneath, there were some nicks on the wood when it arrived unfortunately. Overall I really enjoy skating on this board.

Don't hesitate
Buy it!!!! I'm 32 and wanted something to do with my 13 year old step daughter. I'm completely hooked and want to ride it constantly. She's been riding a penny board for a couple years, after one ride on mine she wants one, and also my 5 year old son is constantly on it and wants his own. It's an incredibly smooth and easy ride. When I first got it I brought it to the shop I work at and had guys well into their fiftys rolling on it, one of them bought two atom long boards that night. It's by far the best purchase I've made in a long time

Only one complaint
My boys have enjoyed cruising this longboard and it seems well made. My only complaint is that about a month after getting it the grip tape started to come up at the bends in the front and back. We live in Wyoming, not sure if the dry climate has anything to do with it. Still a great board, just need to buy more grip tape.

210 lbs/ beginner longboarder
I have had the board for about 40 hours total so far. As a 210 lb man who is a beginner at longboarding, this thing fully supports my weight, looks cool, and rides really smooth. The drop down design of the deck makes balancing way easier than my standard cruiser longboard (which is why bought it). The deck, trucks, and wheels seem to be of good quality. I did end up loosening the wheels a little and tightening up the trucks, but it was still perfectly rideable as it came in the box.Definitely recommend to any heavier skaters/beginners looking for good balance and a smoother ride.

Worked great
I got this long board for my 13 year old grandsons birthday. He loved it and I would buy it again. Unfortunately the very next day after I gave it to him he was using it crossing a street and was hit by a pickup truck and dragged. The longboard was ruined and broke but my grandson is doing ok. Had some bad scrapes and concussion. He was lucky. But he loved the longboard but only got to enjoy it one day.
