a great way to age-appropriately introduce the fact that women inherit a history of inequality in a very accessible way. A great reminder of the potential of bravery, of speaking up and pursuing what you know to be right. The power of one person taking a risk.I don't know if any of that is related to why, but it's one of my daughter's fav books at the moment too.

And then don't tell me fashion is not important

My kid loves the concept that clothes are for everyone and anyone can wear what they like. Mary Walker is an amazing role model, and the history of her at the end was so interesting and inspiring.

Excellent book. Just a note that it uses the word pants instead of trousers, which may need to be explained to children. However, the book has arrived damaged in the corners.
