I have a small 12 inch tall window above my door that ,when the sun is setting, will shine right through the window. It becomes an annoyance when trying to nap or watch tv. This curtain isn’t particularly thick enough to stop all the light from coming through but it’s enough to distort the light to make it bearable. In the picture provided it’s being held up by a spring rod so super easy to install there. Although I didn’t purchase this curtain for an added sense of security, it will provide a cover for any small windows such as I have if you’re wanting to stop someone from looking through. But again this curtain is more of a sheer and not a black out curtain so someone can get close to the window and look through it. If they’re peering from next door or at the end of a driveway they shouldn’t be able to see inside.The curtain is cheap and thin but I simply needed something to block ‘some’ of the sunlight coming through my window for a few hours a day. If you’re wanting a total black out curtain then keep searching cause this will not do the trick. And if privacy is your main concern keep looking as well- it may stop your neighbors and the mailman from seeing inside but any crazy exes or pestering friends or family members will be able look through if they get close enough.

Loved the blue that I purchased. I hadn't done the Tier and valance look in a while. I like to mix it up, however with winter around the corner I wanted something to close the window up a bit but still wanted light. So the space between the valance and tier is perfect. Very cottagey looking, so they go with my home nicely.

I like how it’s slightly sheer to let in some light but not so sheer that it looks overly feminine in my boy’s room. There is a subtle vertical stripe pattern which adds a little character. I mistakenly thought it would fit a 1 inch curtain rod so I had to use a seam ripper to open up the 2 pockets to create 1 large pocket for my rod, which worked for me. For me it was easy to iron out the wrinkles from packaging.

I ordered three White Ribcord Valances, 56"x12". I needed them for my home office/guest bedroom. The three windows are 30" wide each but I hang valances on tension rods inside the window frame. Therefore, the 56" width is perfect, allowing for nice "folds" in the valance. If your windows are wider or hang outside the frames, you may want to buy 2 for each window. They are NOT transparent or opaque; they are a nice, bright white and they definitely brighten the room. The quilt on the futon has a white background and the valances complement it perfectly! I'm about to order more for other windows. A nice choice, for sure.

exactly what I was looking for. pleased with results

the valance is perfect for my bathroom window, I put them on as soon as I got them, so you can see the crease in them. They let some light come through, but not alot, but you definitely can't see through them. The material is good, I think it was money well spent. The picture is with my bathroom light on, and the sun is bright outside, as you can see, light does come through, but that's what I wanted. If you are looking for darkening or thick material, these are not for you.

Fabric appears to be good quality and hemming is uniform throughout.
