Reliable brand, best set in this price range
Spent quite some time researching before settling on this set as didn't want to spend too much but wanted a good set that would last. Richardson Sheffield consistently came up in the top lists for my price range and I liked the classic look of this set. This is a great, sharp set with the basic knives you'd want in your kitchen. I believe they can go in the dishwasher but I handwash mine as we often leave the dishwasher overnight and I believe this isn't good for the handles.

These look great and they’re so sharp !
I had Richardson knives before so was drawn to these . They look stylish , they’re sturdy but still elegant and boy are they sharp !Says dishwasher safe but I think better to hand wash . No big deal is it ?I love them

Top quality knives - hard to imagine how they could be better.
This is an outstanding set of knives; probably the best I've ever used. As soon as you pick up one of these knives it is obvious that they are very good quality. They are heavy but well balanced, razor sharp and the craftsmanship is excellent. Frankly, I can't see how knives that cost far more than these could be any better (unless having real bone handles, decorated blades etc. on your knives is important to you). The ash block is also good quality, heavier then I expected (although I can't quite see the point of the two screw-on metal caps on the front of the block - unless I'm missing something obvious). Well worth the cost.

Knife-y
Very knife-ish. Had these for 6 months now, i could still skin a cat from 30 yards, 4 stars from me

VERY SHARP!!!
Oh my goodness these knives are SHARP! Good selection of sizes for different purposes. I have sliced my finger badly twice, once resulting in stitches at A and E and my husband has also sliced his finger, so obviously they are good for cutting things up but you just need to be so careful when using them that they dont slip. Mine happened on both occassions, slicing a slippery melon up and my husband cut his finger slicing some meat. They seem to be well made, the block is a bit bulky and ugly but thats just my personal opinion.

Great set of knifes!
The best set of knives ever owned. Do need to hone them from time to time to keep razor sharp. We've had and used this set for over 7 months now, no rust, no discolouration - look brand new and sharp as new. I hone them with a £10 ceramic sharpener every month or two to keep them razor sharp. They are used daily by a regular family. We are not chefs and never experienced a knife set over a £100, so not sure if this is the best out there for the price.

Great initially but then started to rust!
I was really pleased with these knives when they first arrived. They look great and were VERY sharp. However over time they started to rust. They were only ever handwashed, didn't go near the dishwasher. But the blades started to rust.Very disappointed. This never happened with the old Richardson Sabatier set we have (which are about 15-20 years old and sometimes got put in the dishwasher - not by me...)Now returned.
